Week 3

I've commented on all your blog posts from last week but noticed some were missing. Max, Kalin, Fabian, James & Tenny - you will all have to do extra work this week to complete your holiday posts.

Literacy

Reading/Writing

We're going to be looking at some specific things around commenting on blog posts. This week you will be choosing 2 posts written by people in our class to comment on.
Find our blogs here

Writing

We're also going to be looking at a specific skill in writing called "show don't tell". We'll look at examples from books and practise some of this ourselves.

Reading

Our whole class reading is going to be around a shared book.

Spelling

There is a new list to practise at SpellingCity.com - this relates to the crossword for this week. Click on play a game for the activities for the list.

Maths

In maths this week we are going to be looking at turns - quarter, half & whole turns and how they relate to degrees - 90, 180 & 360.

Topic

Our topic is combined with our literacy this week. We're going to be looking at the history of the greeting card - when did they first appear on the scene? and other questions like that. I've found an excellent website with photos of some old cards. We're also going to be making cards at the end of the week.
